You’re a busy professional. You have a lot on your plate, your team is working overtime, and that ugly deadline is fast-approaching.
Finally, the recruiter calls you with an interviewee. They send over the [...]

Developing a Network of Passive Seekers

I saw this plate the other day…
A few days ago, I wrote about how hard it is for good, employed job seekers to search for new work while retaining anonymity.
But what if a candidate is not really “looking”, but also wouldn’t pass up the right opportunity if it, well, fell in their lap…?
Sometimes the difference [...]

Law of Attraction

Betty Mann reposted the following ad she found from The Long Tail blog post “For those of you who didn’t get Rock Band this Christmas” which requires linking both to TheLastMinute and AdGoodness.

Clock Building, Not Time-Telling
Of course, it sounds simple on the surface (all good philosophical phrases are) but their implications are far [...]

Network With Meaning

Dave Slusher of Evil Genius Chronicles has had enough with the newest, shiniest social networks clamoring for his attention:
People invite me to services all the time. They want to connect to me on LinkedIn, Twitter, FaceBook. I appreciate that anyone cares and I get a little warmth from the sentiment. I’m not joining anything that [...]
