Serves as the database specialist, including:
-Data architect for the development of web applications for Mission-Based Management and the Health Sciences Information System.
-Resource for database lead and application developers
-Performs data imports/exports from providers and to consumers
-Works closely with Health Science Center database administration team
Participates in the development of web applications for Mission-Based Management and the Health Sciences Information System.
-Heavily involved in the planning of system components; responsible for assigned programs and applications, including scoping, requirements gathering, code generation, deployment, and maintenance.
-Creates reports and reporting tools for institutional analysis.
-Interacts with team members and end users to facilitate development and ensure that product meets organizational needs.
-Manages workflow to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
-Other duties as assigned.
Note: This position does not allow telecommuting
-Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalency;
-Demonstrated human relations and effective oral and written communication skills;
-Minimum of three years experience:
-SQL database programming (emphasis in Oracle PL/SQL or equivalent)
-Software development experience in relational databases, object-oriented server-side programming, and web application development (including design, user interface, deployment, and maintenance).
-Team development (collaborative programming and analysis, source control, test methodologies, and quality control)
-Demonstrated systems development life cycle (SDLC) abilities
-In-depth knowledge of object-oriented development and design principles
-Experience across entire application life cycle (planning, development, testing, deployment, production stewardship)
-Experience with data conversions and migrations, data importing and exporting, ETL, Java, Flex, ActionScript, AJAX, MVC web frameworks, report writing, CSS, MXML, JSON, XML, and XSLT.
Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00
This position requires successful completion of a drug test and criminal background check.
