Monday Munchies — Jan 28, 2008
- Gordon B. Hinckley, prophet-president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints died last night. I found out thanks to twitter, followed by the TV news (gasp) as KSL, DesNews and the Daily Herald were down. CNN, MSNBC, etc., eventually got the story up, but hours after the Twitter News Network broadcast was in full-effect. There’s a virtual memorial on facebook. Now begins the historic transition of keys and authority. Though it is real and palpable, it will also be seamless and inspired. I believe many who may look with curiosity on the church, and even those who might otherwise ignore the church, may actually open their hearts to understand a little more thanks to this great man’s passing.
- The Recruiting Roadshow is coming to Las Vegas in February. It’s FREE.
- My preschooler can display complex information more intuitively than Chase Bank’s Heloc website.
- Last Thursday’s geek dinner was fun. Jeri Cartwright, Utah PR Expert, bravely attended. Bravo!
- Liz Strauss called me an SOB! — Successful Outstanding Blogger (or, at least that’s what I’m telling myself she meant)
- PayPal acquires Fraud Sciences, further proof you should buy stuff through PayPal, NOT your own credit card.
Oh, and this made me laff:
