Calendar: CTO Breakfast Thursday in Provo

Just got this note from Phil Windley re: the monthly CTO Breakfast:

Just a reminder that we’ll hold the May CTO breakfast this coming Thursday at 8am. We’re in the usual place–the Novell cafeteria. Some of you are still holding out because it seems so far away, but give it a chance. It’s actually no further than the Canyon Park Technology Center meeting place from the freeway.

I’ve been traveling for two weeks: WWW2007 in Banff and IIW2007a in Mountain View and have some interesting ideas from those trips. I’d love to hear about your ideas and interests as well, so come and share. There’s no charge to attend, but you’ll have to buy your own breakfast, if you like.

Directions can be found on the CTO Breakfast page:

Here are the dates for the upcoming breakfasts:

– Jun 29 (Friday)
– Jul 20 (Friday)
– Aug 23 (Thursday)

Just to be precise, I compared the actual distance from a fixed starting point of Bangerter & I-15 to where we used to meet and the new location and found a 7.1 mile physical difference in distance, but Google estimates only a three minute difference in travel time. And, with construction in North Orem, it may be faster, still, to drive 3 minutes South to Provo.

Coming from Heber, at the top of Provo Canyon, there’s a little more time difference between the two (old location || new location). However, Heber commuters are still going to get there quicker (by three minutes) than the Salt Lake commuters will.

Unless I am mistaken, all attendees from points north have been bringing cars of one sort or another, so the pain of getting there by covered wagon should be a moot point for this group. Wind up the windows, adjust the AC, turn on your favorite Podcast, audiobook, or NPR or and get 3 more minutes of stuff… or, make one more phone call that you’ve been putting off. You’ll be fine.
