It can be the number-one headache or the number-one success of your company: Your People.

To this end, Kate Perrin, Owner of Professional Solutions, LLC, writes this article for SCORE, titled: Hire and Keep Good People. It is subtitled: “To find and hire good people with current skills, look in the right places and understand what you need. ”

It’s a quick read, and none of the steps she mentions are revolutionary. Yet, they are simple, direct, and can save you from taking those two Tylenol later.

If there is one thing I would draw out of her comments, it is to review or create the position description. Too often, I learn that hiring managers aren’t absolutely sure of the problems they’re trying to solve, let alone finding the right person to solve them.
