Thanks to Phil’s post, I went ahead and opened up my feeds to full-text. Of course, that does leave me wide-open to the possibility of people stealing my content, etc. If I see that happening, I may need to at least strip the HTML out of my feeds… we shall see.
I will note that I pay all expenses for my blogs, so if you see a relevant, timely ad along the side of any of my blog pages, please consider clicking through to an advertizer–it helps offset my costs.
Or–what I would actually preferr–is an endorsement on LinkedIN, if you and I have worked together and I have done something worthwhile for you.
Thanks, Phil! P.S. You’re in the Blogroll now! Thanks for the good stuff!

Hey Rob!
You make a good point about your content possibly being scraped. I believe you have one of the few blogging models where a partial feed makes more sense than adsense. I think that most blog content, while scrape-worthy for a spam posting, doesn’t actually represent value in the post itself. With job ads being one of the key values of your blog, you’re definately at risk of a scraper feeding your posts into a database and stealing your content from you. Interesting dilemma. Your content also has a segmentation quality to it. If my aggregator showed a partial feed of a job listing, I likely wouldn’t open it since I’m not looking for a job. If I were looking for a job, I would hope that you had used a summary feed and I could determine whether I was interested in the job.
Then again, a scraper could hit your blog itself almost as easily as your feed - and the scraping could easily be triggered by an update on your feed. Conclusion: You’re not safe one way or the other!
However, I can now enjoy a full feed from you.
There’s pros and cons either way, I guess. Truthfully, most of the people that I want to have reading my blog are going to find me by means that will drive them here rather than to places which might copy my content.
Its all an ongoing experiment anyway–I love how it’s working though so-far!
